R.Evolución Latina's 2013 BWS program is celebrating cultural exchange for the first time awarding 52 scholarships, 18 of which were given to international students from Peru and Colombia inviting them to participate in the program and join students from NYC. The educational empowerment program has been re-designed to create well rounded performing artists by immersing students in classes of the 3 disciplines that are the components of musical theatre - acting, dance and voice. Classes will take place at the National Institute of dance in Harlem and students been that have selected will commit to 2 intense weeks of training.
Teacher's from Broadway, Film, and t.v have been assembled to provide students with the the most in depth, professional training for all experience levels. This new structure of the program will be guided by Founder/Director Luis Salgado. Teaching artists volunteering their time include Valeria Cossu, Marcus, Michael Fielder, Daniel Fetecua-Soto, Gabriela Garcia, Chris Harbur, marcus d. harvey, Ian Hersey, Robert LaFosse, Jonathan Mendez, Robert Perillo, Rebeca Tomas, Rickey Tripp, Matthew Steffens, Seth Stewart, Susi Beck-Gifford, William Wade and special Peruvian guest artist Julie Freundt. The last day, March 28th the organization will put together a presentation utilizing the skills the students have learn and feature Peruvian singer Julie Freundt.Our mission: We are an organization that utilizes the arts through educational and collaborative programming to empower the Latino community to discover their full potential.
