RED SEA FISH marks the welcome return of playwright Matt Wilkinson, whose critically acclaimed play Sun is Shining sold out at the inaugural Brits Off Broadway festival in 2004.

Ray, a retired thief, sees out his days on the top floor of a tower block on the South Coast. Confined during the day by a rare skin condition, he's cared for by his son Terry. Ray Merrily fills the air with accounts of lost love, past misadventure and the daily observations of a bitter old man. When Terry invites a young runaway back to the flat, she ignites long forgotten passions in Ray. RED SEA FISH is a darkly funny and ultimately tender story about loss, identity and the folly of trying to control the world.

Fuse Magazine called RED SEA FISH "Utterly brilliant and fantastic - reads like the bastard child of Steptoe and Son relocated to a coastal town and reinvented by Pinter and Potter!" The Latest Magazine (Brighton) called production "As engagingly East End-English as Steptoe And Son! Brilliantly observed!"

RED SEA FISH stars Tim Blissett, Janna Fox and Matt Houghton. The design team includes set and costumes by Jess Weisner and lights by Pat Boxall.

Matt Wilkinson (playwright) wrote and directed Sun is Shining (Kings Head / BAC Time Out Critics Choice Season / 59E59 Theaters). UK adaptation: Red Demon by Hideki Noda (Young Vic & Theatre Cocoon Tokyo). Director: The Lord Buckley Show (Soho). Matt's short films have screened internationally. He is currently working on his first feature script Swimmers, shortlisted by Microwave Film London 2008.

Franklyn McCabe (director) is the founder of Two Bins. He trained as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and began directing in 1997. He has worked with the likes of Michael Rudman and Edward Bond. From 1998 - 2000 he was Artistic Director of The New Venture Theatre, Brighton. His adaptation of Dickens' Our Mutual Friend, which he co-directed in 1999, won five Arts Council awards, and his productions are regularly shortlisted at the Brighton Festival awards. Red Sea Fish is his 18th production. Other directing credits include Ingmar Bergman's True Faith (also adapted), Love and Understanding by Joe Penhall, Trevor Griffiths' Comedians, The Lovers by Harold Pinter as well as directing and adapting Charles Dickens' Hard Times. His next project is a revised version of Our Mutual Friend, which will premiere in London in mid-2010.
