RACE To Play Its 200th Performance 5/29

RACE, "the topical detective story" (New York Times) that "sizzles with energy" (The Wall Street Journal), written and directed by David Mamet will play its 200th performance on Saturday, May 29th at 8:00 pm. RACE, which recouped early in the spring, is the longest running play of the season.

RACE currently stars Emmy winner James Spader, 2010 Tony Nominee David Alan Grier, acclaimed actress Kerry Washington, and Emmy winner Richard Thomas, and continues to play at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th St.). Tickets can be purchased by visiting Telecharge.com or calling 212-239-6200.

RACE recently announced its new cast: two-time Emmy award-winning actor Eddie Izzard ("The Riches", The Cryptogram), Golden Globe and SAG award nominee Dennis Haysbert ("24", "The Unit"), Afton C. Williamson (Joe Turner's Come and Gone) and original cast member Richard Thomas.

Eddie Izzard and Dennis Haysbert begin performances with Richard Thomas and Afton C. Williamson on Monday, June 21st for an exclusive nine-week limited engagement through Saturday, August 21st.

Beginning June 21st, RACE's summer schedule is as follows: Monday at 8pm, Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday at 2pm & 8pm, Thursday at 8pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm.

RACE made its world premiere beginning performances on Monday, November 16, 2009 and officially opened on Sunday, December 6, 2009.

RACE features design by Santo Loquasto (set), Brian MacDevitt (lighting) and Tom Broecker (costumes).
