Queensboro Dance Festival ends its season at Queens Theatre Queensboro Dance Festival 2018 takes the final bow of its 5th Anniversary Season with two performances and a closing reception this weekend at Queens Theatre.
Performances take place Saturday, Oct. 13 at 8pm and Sunday, Oct. 14 at 4pm. Talkbacks with the companies' choreographers take place after each show.
Festival Partrner Company RIOULT DanceNY from Astoria will make a special guest appearance at the Sunday, Oct. 14 performance.
On Saturday night, Vissi Dance Theater (Jamaica), Q & A Productions (Woodside), Flamenco Latino (Jackson Heights), Rastro Dance Company (Long Island City), Mala's Odissi (Forest Hills), Cole Collective (Astoria) and The Kingdom Dance Company (Rosedale) will perform.
Beside RIOULT DanceNY, Sunday's program features Yamini Kalluri (Rego Park), Spaces of Fontana (Astoria), Cole Collective (Astoria), Sheep Meadow Dance Theatre (Long Island City), NK&D/a movement company (Astoria), Barbara Mahler's Dances (Jackson Heights), Dugal Dance Projects (Woodside), Dancing Fish (Long Island City) and Tango For All (Astoria).
Since this past spring, 26 Queens-based dance companies have performed throughout the borough as part of the festival's mission to strengthen the local dance community and to garner a greater appreciation for Queens dance. This year's slate of engagements included performances from an eclectic mix of companies covering nearly every type of dance.
