Les Noces, Stravinsky's dance cantata based on a Russian folk wedding, will be performed tonight, Thursday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m., as previously scheduled, as part of The Russian Stravinsky: A Philharmonic Festival conducted by Valery Gergiev. The work had been withdrawn from the program when the Mariinsky Theatre Chorus had been delayed in its arrival from Russia due to the emergency travel disruptions in Europe. The program for this evening's concert will therefore comprise Les Noces, Symphonies of Wind Instruments, and The Firebird (complete).

On Friday, April 23, at 2:00 p.m., Les Noces will be performed in place of the originally scheduled Jeu de cartes. The rest of that program remains unchanged, and the subsequent programs of The Russian Stravinsky will be performed as previously announced. We thank Mr. Gergiev and his team for their extensive efforts in getting the chorus here earlier than anticipated.

The programs for tonight and tomorrow are as follows:

Thursday, April 22, 2010, 7:30 p.m.
Les Noces
Symphonies of Wind Instruments
The Firebird (complete)

Friday, April 23, 2010, at 2:00 p.m.
Les Noces
Symphony of Psalms
The Firebird (complete)
