Cathy Rigby, who first donned green tights to play Peter Pan on Broadway in 1991, will soar across the stage of the Theater at Madison Square Garden this holiday season (November 30th through December 30th) for her farewell performances as the perennial lost boy. A pre-sale for the show will be held from Monday, August 29 at 9:00am through September 10 at 9:00pm; tickets will then be released to the general public.

"It's the 100th Anniversary of the immortal James M. Barrie tale - this musical masterpiece is complete with mischievous Captain Hook, a crafty crocodile and a sparkling Tinkerbell and of course, flying!," state production notes. "This newly enhanced farewell production will be an even greater experience than ever before featuring elaborate and expansive sets and staging and bigger and better flying!"

Ex-Olympic gymnast Rigby opened as Peter Pan at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on December 13th, 1990; the show ran for 45 performances. The petite star, who boasts Seussical and Annie Get Your Gun among her other theatre credits, has been strongly identified with the role since then. Playing Peter on Broadway in 1991, 1998 and 1999, as well, she currently headlines a national tour of the show, which co-stars Howard McGillin as Captain Hook.

Based on the Barrie play, the original 1954 production of Peter Pan, with music by Moose Charlap and Jule Styne and lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, starred Mary Martin as the boisterous title character. Martin's performance was preserved on a 1960 television version that is beloved by parents and children even today; it co-starred Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook. A hit 1979 revival starred Tony Award-nominee Sandy Duncan as well as George Rose.

Backstage Access offers the first choice of best seats from August 29th through September 10th. To purchase tickets, which range from $35 to $99, visit the following link and enter the promotion code BHOOK.
