"John Everett Millais's newest painting, 'Ophelia,' has made him the focus of the Victorian art world. Henry Tate, his patron, manipulates Millais into baring his soul to the masses while an ambitious upstart, Dante Rossetti, looks on from the wings with his wife Christine Siddal, the muse. Frenzied rumors swirl about London; what happened to the model in the painting? Is it the stunning woman, addled with drugs, that Millais suggests it to be? Or does a deeper, bloodier secret hide beneath the oils?," state press notes.
Running July 17th- August 6th, the Midtown International Theatre Festival features over 30 shows in four venues, all on the same block. For additional information on the Festival, visit www.midtownfestival.org.
