Platform Art Celebrates Tenth Anniversary with Art Party 21

Platform Art will celebrate its 10-year anniversary in Lakeland, Fla. with Art Party 21, a celebration of visual art, film, fashion, sound and performance art.

Doors to Art Party 21 open at 7 p.m. and festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Wall Foss Building, 212 East Highland Drive in Lakeland.

"Art lovers and art novices will be able to experience art in diverse types of art," says Cynthia J. Haffey, executive director of Platform Art. "Throughout the space observers may see sculptures on display, interpretive dance or even have the opportunity to view short film."

Art Party 21 features artists from throughout Florida, many of which began their careers by exhibiting at Platform Art events and have gone on to achieve professional success.

"Platform Art is excited to showcase artists from our past to help us celebrate Platform Art's 10th anniversary," Haffey said. "It shows how much the artists have grown and how far Platform Art and our artists have come in 10 years."

Discount tickets for the celebration are available for $10 per person at http://www.platformart.org. Tickets are $20 per person on the day of the event. Platform Art membership rates start at $100 and offer a variety of added benefits, including an open bar and a VIP area for events.
