Pinkalicious, The Musical Opens This Weekend

Vital Children's Theatre's production of Pinkalicious, The Musical opens this weekend. Based on the book "Pinkalicious" by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann, the show is an original musical for children with music by John Gregor.  Performances run Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, January 13, 2007 through February 25, 2007.

Workshops and additional performances include an opening day "Think Pink" workshop following the 1:00 pm show on Saturday, January 13.  There will be 1:00 pm performances followed by workshops on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 15, Wednesday February 21 and Friday February 23.  There will also be selected mid week school performances at 11:00 am. 

"Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament," press notes state.   The production is directed by Suzu McConnell-Wood.

Featured in the cast are Korie L. Blossey, Molly Gilman, Alan Houser, Meg Phillips, and Kristina K. Wilson.  The design team includes sets by Mary Hamrick, lighting by Nathan Elsener and costumes by Sarah Levine.  The Musical Director is John Gregor the Stage Manager is Susan Manikas.  Kerry McGuire is the Assistant Director.

Since its founding in 1999, Vital Children's Theatre has been honored with two Awards For Excellence by the Off-Off-Broadway Review and received high acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Now in its ninth season, the company is dedicated to producing entertaining and educational theatre for young audiences.
