Pieter Dirk Uys Teams Up With LaMama and B'way Cares

 World renowned South African political cabaret artist and OBIE® Award winner Pieter-Dirk Uys returns to NYC with his latest attack on political outrage,  "Elections or Erections: a chronicle of Fear and Fun".  The event, which promises to underline the "mock" in democracy, is being presented by Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and La Mama e.t.c. for three performances on May 5,6 and 7 at La Mama's Annex Theatre (74A East 4th Street, NYC).

"Elections & Erections" is a journey through the minefields of fear and fun from the point of view of a white South African - Pieter-Dirk Uys pitches his satirical tent at the crossroads of two impending elections - The USA Presidential one in November and the next South African General Election in April 2009. It is his latest, most outrageous attack on political outrage, which underlines the "mock" in democracy.
