Pianist Minsoo Sohn, Prize Laureate of the 2006 Honens International Piano Competition, will perform a solo recital at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Sohn will perform Bach’s “Goldberg” Variations, Webern’s Variations, Op. 27, and Brahms’s Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24.

In a New York Times review of Mr. Sohn’s recent recording of the “Goldberg” Variations, Vivien Schweitzer said, “A perennial complaint about music competitions is that brawn often triumphs over brain. But the Honens International Piano Competition in Calgary, Alberta, has found a genuine artist in Minsoo Sohn, the Korean-born winner of the 2006 event. Prize winners are featured on the Honens label, which includes Mr. Sohn’s beautifully articulated, radiant interpretation of Bach’s ‘Goldberg’ Variations.”

Tickets are $35, $20 (Students/Seniors $15) available at carnegiehall.org; by calling Carnegie Charge: (212) 247-7800; or by visiting the Carnegie Hall Box Office: 57th Street and Seventh Avenue.
