New York, May 21, 2013--Tony winner Lea Salonga ("Miss Saigon," "Les Miserables") returns to the intimate cabaret space at Cafe Carlyle for the third time starting tonight until Saturday, June 8. The Cafe Carlyle is located at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel (35 East 76th Street Madison Avenue).
Salonga's new program titled "Back to Before" presents a nostalgic repertoire, in which she revisits her life as a New Yorker and pays tribute to her favorite female vocalists--most notably Ella Fitzgerald and Barbra Streisand.
Photographers Jennifer Painter and Angelica Ciccone took photos at Salonga's rehearsal last weekend at Carroll Music Studios on 55th Street. Check out some of their photos below!
Besides Salonga, present at the rehearsal were Victor Lirio, director; Larry Yurman, musical director; Jeff Harris, pianist; John Miller, bassist; Jack Cavari, guitarist; Andrea Hager, stage manager; Josh Pultz, Salonga's agent; and Nicole Beverly Chien, Salonga's seven-year-old daughter.
Salonga in "Back to Before" plays Tuesday through Saturday at 8:45 p.m., and Saturday at 10:45 p.m. There is a $75 music charge ($45 bar seating) Tuesday through Thursday and a $85 music charge ($50 bar seating) Friday and Saturday.
