Let the bidding begin on the cuddly chorus line of one-of-a-kind teddy bears that make up this year's cast of THE BROADWAY BEARS XIV. Each bear is meticulously outfitted in original, costumes handmade by Broadway's leading designers. Check out the amazingly crafted bears from American Idiot, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Hair, The Merchant of Venice, Pee Wee Herman's Playhouse, Phantom of the Opera and dozens more.
The Broadway Bears is an annual auction featuring a collection of 40 one-of-a-kind celebrity autographed teddy bears, each meticulously outfitted in original, handmade costume recreations based on the originals by Broadway's leading costume designers and representing memorable characters from plays and musicals, past and present.
The skill and imagination devoted to the creation of these coveted collectibles has been recognized worldwide, from The Museum of The City of New York - where 10 bear alumni reside as part of the permanent costume collection - to media acclaim as far away as England and Japan. In addition, noted designers such as Bob Mackie have created original bears for these auctions.
Proceeds go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in order to support men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS and other illnesses.
Online bidding ends at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, March 4.
