'Photographs From Near And Far' Gallery Exhibit Opens September 5

The Bunis Family Art Gallery, located in the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo Benderson Family Building, is pleased to present a solo exhibit by photographer Lawrence M. Ross. The exhibit entitled, "Photographs From Near And Far", opens September 5, 2018 and will be on view through October 30, 2018.

The exhibit will feature over thirty photographs, mostly taken while traveling. "These photographs are from near and far, and some may appear familiar as all photographs share certain common traits-composition, color, perspective, shadow and light," says Ross. "A good photograph should capture the viewer's attention and seize the imagination, rivet you in place, hint at a hidden story, or inspire thought."

Ross was encouraged by his family and friends to create an exhibit of his photographs. Being a member at the Jewish Community Center, he was familiar with the Bunis Family Art Gallery on the second floor and approached the Director of Cultural Arts, Katie Wzontek to express his interest in having an exhibit. "Ross's images capture the landscape, architecture, and culture, beautifully blending travel and street photography," says Wzontek. "He has a natural eye for photography, and his photographs are carefully framed creating interesting composition and balance. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a longtime member of the JCC and help showcase his work to the community."

A free gallery reception, open to the community, will take place on the second floor of the JCC Benderson Family Building in the Lippman Lounge and Art Gallery, September 6, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Lawrence M. Ross is a Member of the law firm Hurwitz & Fine, P.C., where the focus of his business and corporate law practice are health law, taxation, and employee benefits counseling. Ross has more than 25 years of experience before state and federal healthcare and tax agencies including the Internal Revenue Service, the New York State Departments of Health, Education, Insurance and Taxation and Finance, and the Federal and New York State Department of Labor.
