Rope, a revival of Patrick Hamilton's 1929 thriller, is currently playing in previews at The Zipper (336 West 37th Street). The show opens on Sunday, December 4 at 7 p.m.
Alfred Hitchcock adapted the play for his celebrated 1948
film. In keeping with Drama Dept.'s mission of rediscovering neglected works,
the production will mark the first major revival of the play in New York in more than 40
years. Directed by David Warren, it features Sam Trammell and Chandler Williams as its two killers--one without remorse and one plagued by the guilt that is symbolized by the murder weapon of the title. The cast also includes Zak Orth, Christopher Duva, Ginifer King, John Lavelle, Lois Markle and Neil Vipond.
The revival of Rope is presented by Drama Dept., True Love Productions,
highbrow entertainment and The
Zipper. For tickets and more information, visit www.zippertheater.com.
