The whimsical Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt musical Mirette will be presented as part of the York Theatre Company's Musicals in Mufti series from December 16th through 18th.
Tony Award-nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Miserables) and Ed Dixon (The Iceman Cometh, The Scarlet Pimpernel) will headline the musical, which will also feature Davis Duffiled, Patti Murin, Anthony Santelmo, Kelly Sullivan and Maggie Watts. Drew Scott Harris will direct the piece, which boasts a score by Jones and Schmidt (The Fantasticks, 110 in the Shade) and a book by Elizabeth Diggs.
According to press notes, the show revolves around the "unusual friendship between the strong-willed, ten year-old Mirette and
The Great Bellini, a jaded tightrope walker who's lost his nerve. When
Bellini stages a comeback only to find himself paralyzed with fear,
Mirette helps him regain his courage."
The York Theatre Company is located at 619 Lexington Avenue at the corner of 54th Street. Tickets for the show $40 and are available at (212) 868-4444 or online at www.smarttix.com.
