Photo Flash: Women of ROCK OF AGES Calendars Now Available Image

The holidays have arrived for early ROCK OF AGES fans, as the newest collectors item for ROCK OF AGES is released today! The female cast members of ROCK OF AGES will be unveiling a hot off the presses, limited edition, Women of ROCK OF AGES Calendar, to be sold exclusively for Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS.

The calendar will be sold for $20 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, and $29.50 online at www.ROACalendars.com (includes shipping).

After the success of the Men of ROCK OF AGES Calendar, and the demand to see the ladies strut their stuff, Lauren Molina teamed up again with photographer Peter James Zielinski to create the new ladies calendar. Inspired by iconic 80s images and music videos ranging from Madonna to Robert Palmer to Olivia Newton John to Lita Ford, each photo brings a tongue in cheek, playful vibe.

"Shooting the Robert Palmer, 'Addicted to Love" photo was so wild," states Lauren Molina, "It was a freezing day, we were in our black bikinis, fishnets, pumps, posing in the little storefront of the famous, iconic Chelsea Guitars on 23rd street, next to the Chelsea Hotel. They handed me a vintage, Les Paul Flying V electric guitar, and I thought, yeah, this is pretty badass. We were lucky enough to be the last ones to shoot there, as it has since been forced to move to a new location, after 20 years of people like Jimmy Hendrix, and Bob Dylan walking thru the door."

Since the photos were shot on a zero budget, without production help, sometimes the shoots became comical. "As Peter was trying to shoot Ericka Hunter in the Bathtub, I stood on one foot, holding the bathroom door open with my other foot, while lifting the light box at the angle we needed, trying not to fall over," Molina commented. "It was even funnier when we tried to shoot a mock Calvin Klein Jeans group shot on a rooftop while there was a wind advisory. 45 mph winds whipping thru our hair, equipment breaking, while we were trying to cover our naked tops, scrambling to catch our clothes from flying off the roof. It was a sight to behold."

Featured in the women's calendar are Kerry Butler, Lauren Molina, Michele Mais, Angel Reed, Ericka Hunter, Katherine Tokarz, Jenifer Foote, Emily Padgett, and Becca Tobin.

In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small-town girl met a big-city dreamer - and in L.A.'s most legendary rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the '80's. It's ROCK OF AGES, a hilarious, feel-good love story told through the hit songs of iconic rockers Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more. Don't miss this awesomely good time where big hair meets big dreams and the result totally wails. The show is written by Chris D'Arienzo, directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine.

Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com/ 212-307-4100 or in person at The Brooks Atkinson Box Office (256 West 47th Street).
