The New York City Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association offered a Thursday, May 2, 2013 performance of Broadway's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, the new comedy by Christopher Durang starring Tony and Emmy Award Winner David Hyde Pierce and Tony and Academy Award nominee Sigourney Weaver. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will support the free programs and services offered by the New York City Chapter, as well as research.

The performance was held at the Golden Theatre in midtown Manhattan and was immediately followed by a private post-performance dinner with the cast and crew at Pigalle.

David Hyde Pierce, a tireless advocate in the Alzheimer's community, serves on the Board of the National Alzheimer's Association and as a national spokesperson. He lost his father and grandfather to the disease, and was honored last year with the Chapter's Lifetime Leadership Award at its "Forget-Me-Not" Gala, An Evening to End Alzheimer's.
