As previously reported, Stephanie J. Block has joined the Tony® Award winning company of Anything Goes performing the role of "Reno Sweeney" while Sutton Foster is filming the television pilot, Bunheads, for 3 weeks beginning on November 4. Block will fill the famed tap shoes though November 22. Below, we give you a glimpse of the star in costume!
Directed and choreographed by 2011 Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, Stephanie J. Block will step into the role opposite Joel Grey as "Moonface Martin."
Stephanie J. Block was most recently seen on Broadway in 9 To 5: The Musical. Her portrayal of "Judy Bernly" earned her a Drama Desk nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. She is best known for her portrayal as "Elphaba" in the Broadway company of Wicked and for creating the roles of "Grace O'Malley" in The Pirate Queen and Liza Minnelli in The Boy From Oz (opposite Hugh Jackman).
Anything Goes is currently playing on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street). A new block of tickets recently went on-sale through April 29th, 2012.
