On Saturday, October 3rd, 2009, The BraveHeart Awards were presented in the grand ballroom of The Westin Hotel in Los Angeles to Dr. Maya Angelou (BraveHeart Courage Award), Carol Channing (BraveHeart Arts Education Award), Delta Burke (BraveHeart Compassion Award), Kate Edelman Johnson (BraveHeart Philanthropy Award), Dr. Michael and Rickie Byars Beckwith (BraveHeart Spirit and Musical Inspiration Award) and OmniPeace Founder Mary Fanaro (BraveHeart Business Concept Award). Celebrity guests and presenters included Loni Anderson, Les Brown, Courtney Cox, Romi Dames, Frances Fisher, Siedah Garrett, Kate Linder, Marla Maples, Peggy O'Neill, Stefanie Powers, Meshach Taylor, and Rolonda Watts.
TV Host Paul Ryan and Producer of the series "A BraveHeart View" (www.braveheartview.com) emceed and co-produced The BraveHeart Awards along with Karen Cadle, which celebrate courageous and inspiring trailblazers who share their brave hearts in making an impact in the world. Ellie Drake, international speaker and founder of the BraveHeart Women Global Community, was on hand to thank each of this years BraveHearts recipients. The BraveHeart Awards Ceremony focuses on empowerment and inspiration for women.
