Manila, Philippines, November 30, 2013--Philippine broadsheet BusinessWorld has picked the Philippine premiere of the hit Broadway musical "The Addams Family" as the show to watch before it closes at Meralco Theater (Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City) Sunday, December 1.
"With just three weekends of shows at the Meralco Theater, this musical's short run has audiences clamoring for more. Quirky, ghoulish, and a whole lot of macabre fun, 'The Addams Family' is the perfect remedy for the weekend doldrums," wrote Jennifer O. Cuaycong, BusinessWorld.
Atlantis Productions closes its 14th season with Andrew Lippa (music and lyrics), Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice's (book) "The Addams Family." Directed by Bobby Garcia, the production stars Eula Valdes (Morticia), Arnel Ignacio (Gomez), K-La Rivera (Wednesday) and Ryan Gallagher (Lucas).
"The Addams Family" brings to life the darkly delirious world of the famous characters created by Charles Addams: Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and Lurch.
Its production notes say, "The musical tells the story of Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, who has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart and young man from a respectable family; a man her parents have never met. Wednesday confides in her father (Gomez Addams) and begs him not to tell her mother (Morticia Addams). Now, Gomez must do something he's never done before: keep a secret from his beloved wife. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents."
The musical features choreography by Cecile Martinez, set design by Faust Peneyra, lighting design by Dong Calingacion, costume design by Pepsi Herrera, musical direction by Ceejay Javier and vocal coaching by ManMan Angsico.
