Second Stage Theatre is currently presenting the New York premiere of Terrence McNally's Some Men, directed by Trip Cullman (Swimming in the Shallows, Dog Sees God). Some Men began previews on March 2 and will officially open on Monday, March 26 at 6:45pm.
"While two men exchange wedding vows, guests at the ceremony chart their own loves, lives, and the degrees of liberation they've achieved - or not - over the years. At once a collage and a celebration, with equal parts wit and heart, Terrence McNally's latest play, Some Men, is set against the events that shaped the past century," state Second Stage notes. McNally has penned such plays as the upcoming Deuce, Master Class and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, as well as the books to musicals such as Ragtime and Kiss of the Spider Woman.
The company of Some Men includes: Don Amendolia (Stepping Out, My One and Only), Kelly AuCoin (Julius Caesar, Copenhagen tour), Romain Frugé (The Full Monty, Titanic), David Greenspan (She Stoops to Comedy at Playwrights Horizons, Dead Mother, or Shirley Not All in Vain at the Public), Jesse Hooker (Off-Broadway: Drug Buddy, The Rainmaker at Arena Stage), Michael McElroy (Tony-nominee for Big River, Rent, The Wild Party), Pedro Pascal (Based on a Totally True Story, Beauty of the Father), Randy Redd (Parade, Blood Brothers), and Frederick Weller (Seascape, The Little Foxes, Glengarry Glen Ross).
