Dixon Place's commission TIGER TIGER (on the nature of violence) written and directed by playwright Jessica Almasy, will have its world premiere on Friday, November 6th at 7:30 PM. The music is composed by Dan Veksler in collaboration with Ms. Almasy. TIGER TIGER (on the nature of violence) will play six performances only - November 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st at 7:30PM, at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). In TIGER TIGER (on the nature of violence), three boys walk into a zoo in San Francisco, two walk out in handcuffs & the world is turned upside down when a tiger is on the loose & the media wants an answer. This American pastoral is not appropriate for children.
Featured in the cast are Matt Baguth, Kate Benson, Jill Frutkin, Fernando Gonzalez, Hannah Heller, Hannah Kallenbach, David Neal Levin, Teri Madonna, Eliana Mullins, Christopher Nunez, Nazli Sarpkaya, and Brendan Titley.
Sets are designed by Christopher Heilman, with costumes designed by Karen Boyer, lighting designed by Megan Lang and sound designed by Lawrence Schober. John Del Gaudio is the producer and Ann Marie Dorr is the production manager.
The Dixon Place Lounge is open before and after the show. Proceeds directly support Dixon Place's artists and mission. Dixon Place is located at 161A Chrystie Street (between Rivington and Delancey), in Manhattan's Lower East Side (By subway: F to 2nd Ave, J/Z to Bowery, 6 to Spring St, M to Essex St).
