Nancy Hornback, Elizabeth Meadows Rouse and J.J. Van Name, three stars of New World Stages' Sealed for Freshness, recently turned out for Manhattan's famous Easter Parade.
Described as "the new Tupperware comedy," Sealed for Freshness - written and directed by Doug Stone - will give its final performance on Sunday afternoon, April 29th at 3:00 p.m. Upon closing, Sealed for Freshness will have given 86 performances. Performances began February 15th at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Opening night was February 24th.
"Set in the 1960s on a hilarious journey of self-discovery, Sealed for Freshness is the story of five mid-western women who believe in being good wives, good mothers and good neighbors. They were raised to trade their dreams, hopes and desires for social norms, and now they want them back. These hermetically sealed, airtight lives unravel during a sidesplitting Tupperware party gone awry. The women of Sealed for Freshness are struggling with lost youth, missed opportunities -- and deviled egg containers. In other words, they're the original 'Desperate Housewives,'" state press notes.
A portion of the proceeds from Sealed for Freshness will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Susan G. Komen Foundation was founded by Nancy Brinker in 1982, launching the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.
