So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) husband and wife all-star dance duo tWitch and Allison Holker, along with SYTYCD All-Star Alex Wong, led a thousand in NYC's official National Dance Day celebration at The Lincoln Center on July 26th. Scroll down for photos from the festivites!

National Dance Day events also took place at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., hosted by Golden Globe winning TV and film actressJenna Elfman along with So You Think You Can Dance Season 10 Winner Fik-Shun, as well as Grand Park and The Music Center in Los Angeles, hosted by Nigel Lythgoe and So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 Finalist Cyrus "Glitch" Spencer.

Launched in 2010 by "So You Think You Can Dance" co-creator and Dizzy Feet Foundation co-president Nigel Lythgoe, National Dance Day is an annual celebration that takes place on the last Saturday in July. This grassroots campaign encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and fight obesity. NDD achieved national recognition when Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), a long-time proponent of healthy lifestyles, announced at a press conference on July 31, 2010, in Washington, D.C., that she was introducing a congressional resolution declaring the last Saturday in July to be the country's official National Dance Day.

Dizzy Feet Foundation was founded in 2009 by producer Nigel Lythgoe and director Adam Shankman, among others to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States. Guided by a board representing all aspects of the American dance community, the foundation's mission is threefold: To sponsor, fund, and/or support dance education programs which expose children in low-income areas to the lifelong benefits of dance education through and with local community organizations, to provide scholarships to talented students studying at accredited or nationally regarded dance schools, studios, or institutions, and to support and increase the quality of all styles of dance education in the United States in conjunction with recognized credentialing organizations.
