As BroadwayWorld previously reported, stage and screen actorChristopher Evan Welch passed away on December 2, 2013 in Los Angeles. He was 48. Below, we tribute the actor with photos from some of his recent stage appearances.
Welch had been filming in LA for the upcoming HBO series Silicon Valley.
Welch first appeared on Broadway in 1997 in London Assurance and went on to star in the Broadway revival of The Crucible in 2002, followed by Festen in 2006.
He last appeared off-Broadway this year in Manhattan Theatre Club's The Madrid. Among his many other off-Broadway credits are The Little Foxes, Our House, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Romeo and Juliet, The Scene, The Pain and the Itch, Romance, Much Ado About Nothing, Writer's Block, Othello, Measure for Measure, A Skull in Connemara, Adam Baum and the Jew Movie, A Streetcar Named Desire and Scapin.
Welch made appearances in the TV series Elementary, Rubicon, Law & Order, Nurse Jackie, The Good Wife, The Sopranos, The Practice and more. On the big screen, he played roles in The Master, Lincoln, Synecdoche, New York, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, War of the Worlds, The Interpreter, The Stepford Wives and more.
