Photo Flash: OVERRULED Returns to Papillon as an Immersive Party Theatre Experience

Shiyr Productions will reprise Overruled after a successful run in the fall of 2016. Performances will run April 7-9 & 28-30, 2017 at Papillon Bistro & Bar, Prohibition Room, 22 E. 54th Street (bet. 5th & Madison Avenues), New York, NY 10022.

Overruled, according to Shaw, is a little farce with a big commentary on the gallantries of married people. Shiyr Productions will present this hilarity in an Immersive, Party-Theatre format. The audience is invited to mingle with the cast in their finest "Gatsby" attire, eavesdropping on the characters as they navigate their way through confusing revelations of love and marriage.

Theatre critic, Elizabeth Kipp-Giusti, writes, "Shaw has written laugh-out-loud lines... Shiyr Production's Overruled makes the most of these lines and offers laughs, booze, and a fun romp. The show makes such a convincing case for questioning monogamy that it might inspire you to find a new lover."

In an era of pleasure cruises, the Lunn's and the Juno's have each boarded a ship separate from their spouses to travel around the world and reunite full of renewed longing for each other. In pure Shavian style, Mr. Lunn and Mrs. Juno have fallen in love, Mr. Juno has fallen for Mrs. Lunn, and Mrs. Lunn is hungry. Confusion, delight, outrage, and desire all come into play when the four meet unexpectedly at a seaside inn.
