North Shore Music Theatre's production of Jesus Christ Superstar began on September 19th, and will play through October 8. The all-new production plays in the company's signature theatre-in-the-round space.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical was one of a handful of highly influential rock musicals from the early 1970s. The show chronicles the last week in the life of Jesus, dramatizing the excitement caused by his message, his betrayal, his trial before Pontius Pilate, and his ultimate sacrifice.

Directed and choreographed by Robert Johanson, the production stars Nicholas Rodriguez (Almost Heaven: The Songs of John Denver, The Ten Commandments in LA) as Jesus, Rona Figueroa (Lennon, Nine) as Mary Magdalene, Delisco (Aida, Ragtime) as Judas, as well as John Hickok as Pontius Pilate, Wayne Pretlow as King Herod, Daryl Calmeses as Simon, Phillip Boykin as Caiaphas, Colin Donnell as Peter, Michael Brian Dunn as Annas, Kevin Hale as Jude, Leo Nouhan as Thomas and Jason Shuffler as James, among others.
