Nancy Anderson's Monday night concert at Birdland on August 14th celebrated the release of her new CD, "Ten Cents A Dance," and brought out scores of cheering friends, family and former coworkers.

Anderson, musical director Ross Patterson and The Little Big Band delivered 20's and 30's jazz to the historic room named after legendary saxophonist Charlie Parker. The SRO crowd stuck around for Jim Caruso's Cast Party, and got an extra-special shot-in-the-arm when Liza Minnelli stormed the stage. She thrilled the showbiz types with a performance of "On Such A Night As This," an ode to the good old days at MGM, written for her by Marshall Barer years ago. Then, joined by pals Caruso, Billy Stritch and Michael Feinstein, she launched into her godmother Kay Thompson's joyous hit, "I Love A Violin."
