Last night, Night at the Pier featured Broadway-themed performances in honor of the 30th anniversary of Family Equality Council, the national organization that connects, supports and represents the one million parents in the U.S. who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).

Honorees included producer Daryl Roth for her long-standing support of the LGBT community and her efforts in bringing the 2011 Tony Award winning production of The Normal Heart to Broadway audiences last spring. Scott Davenport, Chief Operating Officer of Freedom to Marry, will be honored for his enduring support of Family Equality Council and fierce advocacy work on behalf of LGBT parents and their children. A co-founder of Family Week, Scott has been a gay parent and activist for over 20 years. Scott was granted the first co-parent adoption in the District of Columbia, and was instrumental in forming Rainbow Families of DC.
