The Most Happy Fella returns to Dicapo Opera Theatre from June 14th to July 8th, 2012. Mo Rocca joined the June 14th opening night cast will play a singing chef.
Currently a Correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning, Mo is also a panelist on NPR’s hit weekly quiz show Wait, Wait...Don’t Tell Me! and host and creator of the Cooking Channel’s My Grandmother’s Ravioli, in which he learns to cook from grandmothers and grandfathers across the country. Rocca spent four seasons as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and four seasons as a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Musical theatre has long been an element of Dicapo's tradition. This year the company presents The Most Happy Fella, considered to be one of the most ambitiously operatic shows ever written for the Broadway stage. This May-September romance features a book, music, and lyrics by Tony-Award winner Frank Loesser, best known for Guys and Dolls and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.The eededMost Happy Fela is directed by Michael Capasso and the conductor is Pacien Mazzagatti. Choreography is by Francine Harmon, set design by John Farrell, costume design by Julie Wyma and lighting design by Susan Roth.
