Broadway.tv has joined forces with McDonald's 42nd Street and the Ronald McDonald House to host "The Next Broadway Star".
The Next Broadway Star competition will profile young actors who dream of making it big on Broadway. The ultimate winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000 dollars, the golden opportunity to possibly perform at the Tony Awards Gala and the chance to audition with the most prestigious casting directors and producers on Broadway.
The event kicked off with Actor Jonathan D. Lovitz, President of Actor's Equity Foundation Arne Gunderson, Casting Director of Chicago Duncan Stewart.
The competition will take place once a month over a period of four months. There will be four stages to the competition, the inaugural round, the quarterfinals, the semifinals, and the finals. It will be held at the 42nd Street McDonald's store, the highest grossing McDonald's in the entire world. The upper levels of the location will be transformed into a theatre.
