Broadway Producer Ken Davenport and Davenport Theatrical just presented the first annual Davenport Songwriting Contest. 10 songs competed for the title of 'Best Song' and a $500 Grand Prize. The contest was held at the Davenport Theatre (354 West 45th Street New York, NY 10036) on January 30th, 2014. Scroll down for photos!
Joining Tony Award Winning Producer Ken Davenport (The Bridges of Madison County, Kinky Boots, Macbeth - starring Alan Cumming, Godspell) at the judge's table were Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture), Ryan Silverman (Chicago, The Phantom of The Opera) and Ryan Scott Oliver (Jasper In Deadland at Prospect Theater Company). The audience and a panel of celebrity guest judges chose the winner.
All finalists received a cash prize of $50. The evening was hosted by Rock Audition Guru, Sheri Sanders (Rock The Audition).
