Photo Flash: Liza Minnelli & Sam Harris Bring SCHMOOLIE & MINNOOLI to Birdland!

Last night the Broadway at Birdland stage was home for a true insider event, when Liza Minnelli and Sam Harris gave the lucky packed house a sneak-peek at their new duo project, "Schmoolie & Minnooli: Works in Progress."

After discussing the idea for fifteen years, these two best friends finally decided to 'put on a show,' and, along with musical director Billy Stritch, entertained family, friends and cheering fans with 90 minutes of very special material. Even Liza's broken foot was fodder for comedy, after she was carried to the stage by beefy dancers Alex Ringler and Justin Smith. The two shows were sold out within 20 minutes - a Birdland record - snatched up by folks including beloved showbiz ladies Julie Halston and Caroline O'Connor, and actor/Liza bff Alan Cumming. The event was presented by Jim Caruso, with sound and lights by Matt Berman and Rocky Noel.
