The Dallas Pops, American Airlines Center and CBS Radio just presented an epic-size concert event at the American Airlines Center on March 23. The show Do You Hear the People Sing featured the music of Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, in a Broadway-style concert, with direction by Jen Bender and musical direction by Kevin Stites. The show was created by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, composer and lyricist for Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, Pirate Queen, and more.
BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the special concert event, which featured Broadway favorites Brian Stokes Mitchell, Lea Salonga, Stephanie J. Block, and more, below!
This arena spectacular show was modeled after the 25th Anniversary concert of Les Misérables held last year at the 02 Arena in London. The American Airlines Center concert featured a two level stage with larger-than-life video screens and state-of-the-art sound system.
Do You Hear the People Sing is a musical celebration of the legendary creative team Boublil and Schönberg. The concert features songs from Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, The Pirate Queen, Martin Guerre and La Revolution Francise on a larger than life scale. An endeavor of this size can only come from a collaboration of the major arts and entertainment organizations in Dallas including Dallas Pops Orchestra and American Airlines Center with marketing support from CBS Radio, the Lexus Broadway Series and the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
