Academy, Emmy and TONY Award winner Ellen Burstyn (Picnic, "Requiem for a Dream"), TONY Award winner Jefferson Mays (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, I Am My Own Wife), TONY Award nominee Jessica Hecht (King Lear, A View from the Bridge), and New York favorites Tracee Chimo (Lips Together Teeth Apart, Bad Jews) and Steven Boyer (King Lear, Hand to God) have all been photographed for The Creative Faces Project. The weekly release of their individual entries will mark the project's official launch this fall. Current featured artists are listed below.
The Creative Faces Project is a digital portrait and interview collective of artists who inspire the New York stage. It features these diverse artists in a unified and evolving body of work, which has primarily grown through six degrees of separation and the generosity of each featured artist.
"The digital element is very important because it makes the project easily accessible for all. Now 27 and living in New York, I envision myself as a 15-year-old kid in Colorado, wanting to have a life in New York theatre. The Internet was a way to connect with that distant world. I imagine myself stumbling upon The Creative Faces Project and being completely obsessed with and inspired by it. It is a Rolodex of diverse and exciting people who are making their lives as artists. This is the impetus for the project: the sharing of inspiration! I hope it continues to grow and function as source of inspiration and interest for all people touched by New York theatre."- Jason Zeren: The Creative Faces Project
