Artists for World Peace presented its sixth annual Broadway fundraiser, featuring some of Broadway's top performers, on Sunday, February 19th at The Cutting Room. Scroll down for photos from the concert!
Included in the lineup were: Deanna Aguinaga (West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Mamma Mia!), Stephen Carrasco (Fiddler on the Roof, Kinky Boots, Billy Elliot), Ben Cherry (Fiddler on the Roof, Indecent), Lilli Cooper (Wicked, Spring Awakening), Bryan Fenkart (Memphis), Natalie Gallo (Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia!), Albert Guerzon (Ghost, Honeymoon in Vegas, Mamma Mia!), Katie Homer (Mystic India), Crystal Monee Hall (Rent), Monica Kapoor (Mamma Mia!, Bombay Dreams), Katrina Lenk (Indecent, Spiderman, Once, The Band's Visit), Catherine Ricafort (Miss Saigon, Holiday Inn, Honeymoon in Vegas, Cinderella, Allegiance), Jennifer Sanchez (On Your Feet, Spiderman, Women on the Verge, Ghost, West Side Story), Sharone Sayegh (Mamma Mia!, The Band's Visit), Thom Sesma (Man of La Mancha, Nick & Nora, La Cage), Andre Ward (Something Rotten, Rock of Ages, Xanadu, The Producers, Sat Night Fever), and Blake Whyte (Wicked, Mamma Mia!).
The evening was hosted by Paul and Robbie Rescigno (The Rescignos), and featured music direction by Brandon Sturiale.
Artists for World Peace links communities of artists with communities in need. During the event, the performers wore the International Peace Belt (TIPB), created by Artists For World Peace founder Wendy Black-Nasta, with coins and gems representing 115 countries. Since its completion in 2003, TIPB has traveled to over 30 countries on 5 continents. Wherever TIPB travels, dancers, artists, musicians, peace activists, and spiritual leaders meditate on and lend their voices to support peace. In this way, TIPB is transformed into a living link between cultures and a symbol of peace and unity of all nations, of all people as one.
