Cynthia Nixon (Sex & the City) and Liza Lapira (Super Fun Night) honored Kathleen Chalfant (House of Cards) on March 10, 2014 at Epic Theatre Ensemble's Annual Gala to raise money for Shakespeare Remix, an arts education program benefiting inner city school kids. The festivities were held at Battery Gardens (inside battery park) and began with cocktails and a special toast by Cynthia Nixon, before moving upstairs for the main program and dinner, featuring Tonya Pinkins, Nilaja Sun and Josh Fox.
Epic Theatre Ensemble is a company of artists and activists dedicated to creating theatrical events Off-Broadway and in the NYC Public Schools that inspire vital dialogue about social, ethical, and political issues. One of Epic's major initiatives is "Shakespeare Remix" which earned them the 2009 National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award from the President & presented by Michelle Obama.
