On Thursday, October 27, Broadway and cabaret star Karen Mason sang her heart out for an opening night crowd at The Encore. Her show, The Sweetest of Nights, is a celebration of a new of a new CD, which has just been released on Zevely Records, of the same name. She was introduced to the packed house by the "King of Cabaret," Michael Feinstein, who reminisced about the first time he saw Mason perform in Chicago. In the audience were Broadway's Harvey Evans, Darrin Baker (from the upcoming White Christmas), cabaret's Jeff Harnar, singers Roslyn Kind, Lorna Dallas, Lina Koutrakos and the legendary Julie Wilson.

The Sweetest of Nights will run on Thursdays through Mondays from October 27th through November 7th; all shows are at 9 PM nightly except Fridays, when the show is at 7 PM. Tickets are $30 plus a 2-drink minimum; to make reservations, call 212-221-3960 (after 4 PM).
