/>/>John Lithgow/>--who hasn't been too busy on stage and on screen to carve out a second career as a children's book author--headed to Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St.) on Sunday, October 8th at 11 AM. He performed songs from his upcoming children's album "The Sunny Side of the Street."

Featuring such songs as "Inka Dinka Doo," "Getting to Know You," "Everyone Says />I Love You/>" and the title tune, Lithgow's album also includes appearances by />/>Sherie Rene Scott/>, />/>Wayne Knight/>, Maude Maggart, and Madeleine Peyroux. It was released on August 29th by Razor & Tie.

Lithgow, who received a Tony nomination for his performance in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, has appeared on Broadway in over 20 shows. A Tony Award-winner for The Changing Room and Sweet Smell of Success, his credits include The Retreat from Moscow, M. Butterfly, Requiem for a Heavyweight and Beyond Therapy. He is also an accomplished film and TV actor who is often recognized for his stint on "Third Rock from the Sun."  Lithgow's children's books include "Carnival of the Animals," "I'm a Manatee," and "The Remarkable Farkle McBride," while previous albums for kids include "Singin' in the Bathtub" and "Farkle & Friends."  He currently appears with Jeffrey Tambor on the new NBC sitcom "Twenty Good Years."
