On Monday night, Jim Caruso's Cast Party was a hotbed of activity, and not just because of the summer temperature! The jam-packed house was thrilled to celebrate the cast of Closer Than Ever, the Matlby-Shire musical review starring Jenn Colella, Christiane Noll, Sal Viviano and George Dvorskey, accompanied by Andrew Gerle. A few lucky (and knowledgeable) audience members even won tickets to the show.
The Habibi Kings stormed the stage, bringing their Middle Eastern/Mediterranean music and fun to the Cast Party proceedings! Dapper-as-always Drew Nugent played the horn AND the teakettle! Carly Sakolove did some amazing impressions, and a very talented young man namEd Campbell Walker charmed with a song from Gypsy. Samia Najimy Finnerty and Cole Lumpkin make dazzling Birdland debuts, cabaret superstar Clint Holmes and his Musical Director Jeff Neiman thrilled the crowd, and Justin Chase served up an Adele tune. Hit songwriter/producer Victoria Shaw sang a swingin' new ditty, two London rocker chicks called "Never The Bride" entertained, Emily Braden and Nancy Harms sang, accompanied only by bass-dude Steve Doyle, and Dominick Farinacci performed some very cool jazz trumpet. Tedd Firth, Mr. Doyle and Daniel Glass were the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra, accompanying everyone with their brilliant musicianship.
