The 2015 Kaufman Music Center Gala featured a performance by the multiple Tony winner Jason Robert Brown, composer/lyricist of The Bridges of Madison County, Parade and most recently, Honeymoon in Vegas. Scroll down for photos from the event!
The program also included performances by exceptionally talented students from Kaufman Music Center's Special Music School, a K-12 public school for musically gifted children, and Lucy Moses School, a community arts school for students of all ages and backgrounds.
Brown is a Tony Award-winning composer of The Bridges of Madison County, how heading out on tour, and Honeymoon In Vegas, which recently closed on Broadway following a triumphant production at Paper Mill Playhouse last fall. A film version of his off-Broadway musical The Last Five Years recently hit the big screen starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. Other major musicals include "13", Parade and Songs for a New World. Future projects include a new chamber musical created with Daisy Prince and Jonathan Marc Sherman called "The Connector", an untitled new piece created with Claudia Shear and Casey Nicholaw, and a new solo album for release this year.
