Cabaret producer and performer Jamie deRoy continued her acclaimed variety show, "Jamie deRoy and Friends" at the Metropolitan Room, April 26th at 7:30PM.
Special guests for the show included Gay Marshall (Jacques Brel), Jay Rogers, Steve Ross and Tony Award-winner William Finn (Falsettos, Spelling Bee). Barry Kleinbort directed, and Lanny Meyers served as musical director.
"The colorful cabaret series, which has been thrilling New York City audiences for the past 16 years and serves as the basis for deRoy's award-winning cable television show, spotlights a wide variety of well-known entertainers and newcomers lighting up the cabaret, theater, and comedy worlds," state press materials. deRoy has won eight MAC Awards, four Back Stage Bistro Awards, nine Telly Awards and CaB Magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award for her extensive work on both stage and screen. She has produced seven CDs in the "Jamie deRoy & friends" series on the Harbinger label, and her acting credits include appearances on the television shows "Alice," "Spiderman" and "Knight Rider," and in the films GoodFellas, Raging Bull, See No Evil Hear No Evil, and Married to It. Onstage, deRoy has appeared with Rene Auberjonois in The Threepenny Opera, among numerous other credits.
