Academy Award nominee and Tony and Golden Globe Award winner Hugh Jackman brought his critically acclaimed one-man show from Broadway to Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre for a performance benefitting MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund), Saturday, October 12th. The event raised $1.85 million. Check out photos of Jackman on stage below!
Jackman's catalogue of numbers for the three hour show included songs from LES MISERABLES, THE BOY FROM OZ, GUYS AND DOLLS, CAROUSEL and more. The show marked Jackman's first time performing in Southern California - and his 45th birthday.
Hugh Jackman's involvement with MPTF, a 92-year-old charity that provides essential health care, wellness, social services, child care and retirement services to the entertainment community, began in 2007 when he first performed and co-hosted the organization's "A Fine Romance" - an event celebrating the love affair between Broadway and Hollywood.
Jackman was most recently seen in Prisoners alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. Other upcoming big screen projects include X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Greatest Showman on Earth. He recently starred in The Wolverine and the Oscar-nominated movie adaptation of Les Miserables. Jackman has appeared on Broadway in Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, A Steady Rain and The Boy From Oz -- for which he won the 2004 Tony Award -- as well as off-Broadway's Carousel. In 2012, Jackman was honored with a Tony Award Special Award for Extraordinary Contribution to the Theatre Community.
