After a well-received appearance at the 2016 Venus/Adonis Theatre Festival, STILL NOT, a new play by Harrison Bryan, will make its Fringe debut as part of the 2016 New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC). STILL NOT opens August 15 and plays at The WOW Cafe Theatre. The 75-minute skewed-romantic comedy is directed by National Youth Theatre Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Rory Lance. Every day, a young man walks past a park bench on his way to and from work, and every day it is empty. But then one day, much to his surprise, he sees a woman. Over six days, following an awkward, yet curious, first encounter, they find themselves together on this bench, their hopes and dreams intertwined, both waiting for something. STILL NOT is defined by an ever-present tension; as the woman waits for closure from her ex, and the man waits for her, they explore themes of fate, desire, dependency, and progression.
STILL NOT stars the playwright, Harrison Bryan, and Shelby Hightower. The two actors met at Boston University, where they dated for three years before ultimately separating. They have remained friends, and with this production they face the rewarding, but often difficult, challenge of being artistic collaborators yet again.
