Broadway Artists Alliance, the dynamic not-for-profit educational organization that is quickly gaining a reputation for ensuring the future of great Broadway talent by bringing together Broadway artists and promising young performers, continued their 2008 one-day master class series with Spring Awakening's Jonathan Groff and Tony Award Winner John Gallagher Jr.

Tony Award-winner John Gallagher Jr and Tony-nominee Jonathan Groff lent their talent to the eager young artists of Broadway Artists Alliance with a Q&A session. Both stars shared their thoughts and expert advice about what to expect out of the process of auditioning for a Broadway show. They each relayed their individual journeys, sharing stories of the audition process that ultimately landed them their acclaimed roles in Broadway's hit Spring Awakening.

Master class participants gained the benefit of audition training and feedback from both actors throughout the day. Jonathan Groff led a master class in "Song Interpretation," encouraging students to create and discover new moments each time they perform. Gallagher Jr. led a master class in "Auditioning for Contemporary Musical Theatre," sharing feedback with students on their performance and song selections which included both Broadway repertoire and pop culture music.

John Gallagher Jr. is also a singer, song writer and guitarist for the band Old Springs Pike. For more information on Old Springs Pike, please visit www.oldspringspike.com. Jonathan Groff has recently renewed a contract to continue with his Tony-nominated role of Melchior in Broadway's Spring Awakening through May 2008.

Additional upcoming Broadway Artists Alliance One-Day Master Classes feature special guest instructors from Broadway's Young Frankenstein, The Little Mermaid and Hairspray. Broadway Artists Alliance also hosts a 2-week Summer Musical Theatre Intensive in New York City.

Although space is limited, all master classes and summer events are open to returning and new students ages 10-21. Interested young performers are welcome to visit www.broadwayartistsalliance.org to apply for upcoming master classes and other Broadway Artists Alliance events. Current and past guest speakers and one-day master class instructors for Broadway Artists Alliance include Jason Robert Brown, Sutton Foster, Beth Leavel, John Lloyd Young, Ashley Brown, Megan McGinnis, Michelle Federer, Lea Michele, and Stephen Schwartz.
