The Broadway at Birdland concert series last night featured the return of Godspell's Lindsay Mendez & Marco Paguia. The duo drew from an eclectic mix of music, reimagining songs from popular music in the familiar setting of a jazz piano trio and vocalist. Their vast catalogue is comprised of the singers and songwriters that inspire them, including Alexi Murdoch, Alicia Keys, The Beatles, Feist, Fiona Apple, Gladys Knight, Janis Joplin, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Lenny Kravitz, Macy Gray, Martin Sexton, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, The Police, Stevie Wonder, and U2.

Lindsay Mendez is a singer and actor, seen and heard both on Broadway and in the popular music world. Currently, she can be seen on Broadway in the revival of Godspell at the Circle in the Square Theater. Last year, Lindsay was featured in the Tony-nominated Broadway production of Everyday Rapture, starring Sherie Rene Scott. Other notable theater credits include Grease (2007 Revival Original Cast), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Off-Broadway), Everyday Rapture (Off-Broadway), and Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris (TRTC). Lindsay's concert credits span across the U.S., including performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, The Kennedy Center, The Dorothy Chandler Pavillion, The Orange County Performing Arts Center, and Le Poisson Rouge. Most recently, Lindsay was featured on New York City Christmas, a benefit album for Artists Striving To End Poverty (ASTEP). Lindsay is a founding member of The League Of Broadway Super Friends.

Marco Paguia is an accomplished Musician and Composer sought after for his proven versatility across many styles of music. Marco's experience as a composer includes the "Best Play" and "Fringe First" award-winning How to Act Around Cops (New York and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals). A successful and recognized pianist as well, Marco released "Small Hours," the debut album with his jazz trio. Marco was a two-time finalist for the American Pianists' Association Cole Porter Fellowship. Highlights of his Theater Music Directing career include the Tony-nominated Broadway production of Everyday Rapture, Peter and the Starcatcher (New York Theatre Workshop) Disney's On The Record (National Tour), and Flower Drum Song (National Tour). Marco is the music director & arranger of The League of Broadway Super Friends.
