Photo Flash: First Look at Times Square's New Redesign!

The architechts that created the Sempember 11 Memorial have now moved on to a new plan to redesign Times Square. Though plans have not yet been finalized, construction would begin in Fall 2012 and be complete by 2014. Check out a photo of the design, which was just revealed at a meeting last night, below!

Times Square Alliance's Tim Tompkins told the NY Daily News: "We wanted to reduce the clutter ... and create a unified identity for the heart of Times Square. It'll look dramatically different, but we like that in some ways the design is about more being less."

Community Board 5 district manager Wally Rubin added, "The general reaction was very favorable. It's taken years of thought and work and dialogue to make Times Square the kind of place that looks good and works for the purposes that it's designed for."
