Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies, opened on Thursday night at Theatre for the New City. The Tony Award-nominated play is currently running through March 25. The play is directed by award-winning director, Joan Kane, and produced by Ego Actus and Lung Tree Productions.

Set in Brooklyn, the play revolves around Sarah, a photo journalist who has just returned from covering the war in Syria after being severely injured by a roadside bomb. Her reporter boyfriend James, is swamped by guilt for leaving Sarah alone in Syria where she was nearly killed. When they receive a visit from their photo editor friend Richard, who introduces them to his new and much younger girlfriend Mandy, their relationship is tested. Can the adventurous couple find peace with a more conventional life when they thrive on the adrenaline rush of war?

The cast stars Maggie Alexander (Fifty Words/Gene Frankel Theater), Connie Castanzo (Gigi/Storm Theatre Company), Malcolm Stephenson (The Sisters Rosensweig/Broadway), and Timothy Weinert (Street Justice: The Bronx/Discovery TV).

The creative team includes scenic design by Mark Marcante, costume design by Cat Fisher, lighting design by Bruce A! Kraemer, sound design by Ian Wehrle, make-up design by Virna Smiraldi, house management by Angela Manfredonia, and stage management by Dana Robbins.
