Poor Boys' Chorus, a new play written by Portland-based playwright Brian Kettler, is making its WORLD PREMIERE as part of Broadway Bound Theatre Festival's inaugural season in New York City. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
A daring trick by a mysterious illusionist at the summer carnival inspires a rich girl to convince an orphan boy to break all of the town's rules. Plans are hatched, promises are broken, and innocent mistakes produce tragic consequences. Poor Boys' Chorus re-imagines the Greek chorus as a of trio orphans who use rhythm, light, and little bit of magic to tell a tale so tragically romantic it'll take your breath away. Literally.
Poor Boys' Chorus will be directed by Sean Tecson and features Zoe Abuyuan, Enrique Cavazos, Robert Di Donato, Jose Gamo, Rachel Larsen, Christopher Sanders, Rodolfo Soto, and Spencer Wolfe.
Poor Boys' Chorus opens at the 14th Street Y Theater (344 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003) on Tuesday, August 15 at 4PM. Additional performances: Friday, August 18 at 7:30PM and Sunday, August 20 at 3PM. For more information and tickets, visit PoorBoysChorus.com.
